QuantWheel alternative? QuantWheel vs OptionClaws, side by side
By OptionClaws · Updated 2026-11-04
QuantWheel is the better fit if you run the wheel and want one place for screening, broker-synced tracking, rolls and gamma exposure (GEX) data. OptionClaws is the better fit if you want to scan the whole market across 23 strategies, including spreads, condors and calendars, and then build, optimize and journal the trade. Both can be driven from Claude and ChatGPT through MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors, so the difference is scope rather than AI access. This page compares them using each company's public pages, checked on November 4, 2026. We make OptionClaws, so read it with that in mind: we say where QuantWheel does more, and we leave out anything we could not verify.
Key facts
- QuantWheel is wheel-first: its pages describe a wheel tracker that follows puts, assignments, shares, covered calls and rolls, a Roll Assistant, and a journal built from synced broker trades with cost basis. OptionClaws scans each leg of the wheel as a separate scan and does not track the cycle for you.
- QuantWheel says it supports 15+ brokers through read-only connections, and lists order placement through QuantWheel at some of them. OptionClaws does not send orders; its journal imports CSV files from 7 brokers.
- OptionClaws scans 23 strategies across the market plus custom structures of up to 4 legs. QuantWheel's pages describe cash-secured puts, covered calls and a buying screener for directional trades, and we found no screener for iron condors, strangles, calendars or butterflies.
- Both offer MCP access: QuantWheel's server lists 38 tools and is included in every paid plan with daily call limits of 100, 300 or 2,000; OptionClaws includes ChatGPT and Claude connectors in its single plan.
- QuantWheel lists $29, $49 and $79 a month and a 7-day trial for $1. OptionClaws has one plan with every feature, priced on its pricing page.

Who should stay with QuantWheel
If your trading is mostly the wheel, QuantWheel covers more of the loop than OptionClaws does. Its pages describe a workflow that starts at the screen and carries through assignment, covered calls and rolls, with tracking that follows the position.
- You want the wheel tracked for you. QuantWheel's Options Wheel Tracker follows screening, puts, assignments, shares, covered calls, rolls and results, and says each premium you collect lowers the breakeven line on your chart, rolls included. OptionClaws scans each leg separately and does not know what you paid for your shares.
- You want your broker account connected. QuantWheel says it supports 15+ brokers through read-only connections and builds its journal from synced trades with true cost basis. For some brokers it also lists order placement through QuantWheel. OptionClaws imports CSV files from 7 brokers and does not send orders.
- You want a roll tool tied to the position. QuantWheel's Roll Assistant sorts roll candidates by net credit, equity released, days extended and annual yield.
- You want GEX data beside the wheel. QuantWheel lists GEX, vanna and charm heatmaps, an options flow scanner and a TradingView overlay on its paid plans. OptionClaws has no GEX heatmaps or TradingView overlay.
- You want alerts. QuantWheel lists real-time alerts for prices, wheels and saved searches on its Wheel and Quant plans.
- You want to try it cheaply. QuantWheel offers a free demo with a demo portfolio and delayed data, and a 7-day paid trial for $1.
Who should consider OptionClaws instead
OptionClaws is built around the scan. Pick one of 23 strategies or define up to 4 legs, apply filters, and review ranked trades across the market, each with a payoff chart and probability of profit. It fits a few specific situations.
- You trade more than the wheel. OptionClaws scans credit and debit spreads, iron condors, straddles, strangles, butterflies, calendars and diagonals as well as cash-secured puts and covered calls. QuantWheel's pages describe a Strategy Explorer for visualizing multi-leg trades, but we found no screener for those structures.
- You start from a price view. The optimizer takes a symbol, a target price or direction and a date, and ranks trades for it. The strategy builder shows payoff at expiration and on any date, greeks, chance of profit and margin.
- You use a phone. OptionClaws has iPhone and Android apps beside the web app. QuantWheel's pages mention a TradingView desktop app and a Chrome extension, and we found no phone app.
- You want curated starting points. OptionClaws ships 29 presets, including Wheel Candidates, which runs the cash-secured put strategy on $10B+ dividend payers, and Covered Call Income for the call side.
- You want one plan with every feature. OptionClaws does not split features across tiers; see the pricing page.

The wheel, step by step: where each tool helps
The wheel is a loop of four jobs. Here is how each product handles them, based on what each says it does.
- Pick the put. QuantWheel's Cash Secured Put Screener has 3 filter groups and saved searches. OptionClaws runs the Wheel Candidates preset or your own filters on the cash-secured put strategy across the market, with returns figured on the cash set aside.
- Handle assignment. QuantWheel builds its wheel and journal from your synced broker trades. In OptionClaws you log the assignment in the journal, where an expired option prompts you to mark it expired, assigned or exercised and can create the stock trade, or you import a broker CSV file.
- Sell the call. Both have a covered call screener. OptionClaws figures call returns as if you bought the shares at today's price, so after an assignment you work out your own return from the strike and premium columns.
- Roll or close. QuantWheel's Roll Assistant ranks rolls for an open position. OptionClaws prices the roll you choose, and the journal records rolls as part of the trade history.
AI assistants: both have MCP, with different scope
QuantWheel ships a remote MCP server. Its page says it works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code, that Claude connects as a custom connector with OAuth sign-in, and that it exposes 38 tools covering gamma exposure, options flow, screeners, your wheels and your journal. MCP is included with every paid plan, but the toolset and the daily call budget scale with the plan: 100 calls a day on GEX, 300 on Wheel and 2,000 on Quant. Reading is the default; order placement stays off until you turn on AI agent trading in your QuantWheel settings, and the page says it cannot be switched on through MCP.
OptionClaws includes connectors for ChatGPT and Claude in its single plan, and the same server works in other MCP clients. An assistant can run scans, price a position, read your journal stats and review your trades. Changes to the journal show a preview first and are applied only after you say yes. For the wheel, the practical difference is the data behind the questions: QuantWheel's assistant works from your synced wheels and GEX data, while OptionClaws works from the full-market scan and your journal.
Price and trial
QuantWheel lists three plans on its pricing page: GEX at $29 a month, Wheel at $49 a month and Quant at $79 a month, with quarterly billing at a discount and annual billing mentioned in its FAQ without a price. The Wheel plan is the one that adds the full wheel workflow, Roll Finder, the journal and real-time alerts. The Quant plan is listed at $0 a month with TradeStation. A trial is 7 days for $1 and renews automatically unless you cancel, and a free demo uses a demo portfolio and delayed data.
OptionClaws has one plan with every feature, and its price and any trial are on the pricing page, which is the only place to rely on for current terms. Prices change, so check both pricing pages before you subscribe.
How to decide
Start with what you do after the screen. If you want the wheel tracked, rolls ranked and your broker account connected, QuantWheel is the more complete wheel tool and you should look at it first. If you want to scan the whole market for puts, calls and multi-leg structures, build or optimize the trade from a price view, and journal it, from a browser, a phone or an AI assistant, try OptionClaws. Many wheel traders will want one for each job, and nothing stops you using both: run the same cash-secured put scan in each and compare the lists.
