TradesViz alternative for options traders: who should switch, and who should stay
By OptionClaws · Updated 2026-11-04
TradesViz is a broad trading journal with far more statistics, automatic broker sync, and asset classes than OptionClaws, so most traders who want a deep, automated journal across many markets should stay with it. OptionClaws is a better fit for options traders who want the journal inside the same tool as an options scanner, strategy builder, and optimizer, and who log by hand or import files. This page lays out what each product says it offers, based on public pages we opened on November 4, 2026, so you can judge which one matches how you trade. We make OptionClaws, so read our side with that in mind, and note that we concede every point where TradesViz is stronger.
Key facts
- TradesViz states 600+ statistics, 250+ supported brokers and platforms with 70+ auto-sync connections, and asset classes from stocks and options to futures, forex, crypto, and CFDs. OptionClaws has fewer statistics and covers stocks and options only.
- On TradesViz's pricing page, the free Basic plan is stock only with 3,000 executions per month. Options need Pro at $19.99/mo, or $14.99/mo billed yearly, and Platinum is $29.99/mo or $22.49/mo billed yearly.
- OptionClaws logs multi-leg option trades, imports CSV files from 7 brokers, pasted text, or screenshots, and ties the journal to scans, the strategy builder, and the optimizer.
- Both offer AI features and a way to reach your data from AI tools: TradesViz lists hosted MCP access and a REST API on paid plans, and OptionClaws connects to ChatGPT and Claude with a preview and confirm step before any change.

Who should stay with TradesViz
If your journal is the center of your trading routine, TradesViz covers more of it. Its public pages describe several capabilities that OptionClaws does not have, and its stated numbers are well above ours.
- You want trades to arrive automatically. TradesViz lists 70+ auto-sync connections and 250+ brokers and platforms. OptionClaws imports files, pasted text, and screenshots, so it takes more manual steps.
- You trade more than stocks and options. TradesViz lists futures, futures options, forex, crypto, and CFDs on its paid plans. OptionClaws has no futures, forex, or crypto.
- You want the most reports. TradesViz states 600+ statistics and widgets for custom dashboards. OptionClaws shows a focused set of stats and breakdowns.
- You want a backtester or a simulator. TradesViz lists an options strategy backtester and an options simulator under Platinum. OptionClaws has no backtesting.
- You want a mobile journal app. TradesViz lists a mobile app for iOS and Android on every plan, including the free one.
- You want a free plan for stock trades. TradesViz Basic is free with 3,000 executions per month, though it is stock only.
Who should consider OptionClaws instead
OptionClaws is built around finding and building options trades, and the journal sits next to that work. It fits a narrower group of traders than TradesViz does, and it fits them well.
- You find trades with a scanner. Scan results can be logged to the journal or placed as paper trades from the result, and the strategy builder and optimizer sit in the same account.
- You trade multi-leg options. You log legs as one trade, the strategy is detected from the legs, and results are broken down by strategy, symbol, days to expiration, IV rank, delta, and more.
- You want to check your own process. Playbooks let you list rules and compare win rate when you followed them versus broke them, and a calibration chart compares the probability of profit shown at entry with how often your trades won.
- You work from an AI assistant. The ChatGPT and Claude connectors can list trades, show stats, run an AI review, and log, close, roll, or settle a trade, always after showing a preview and getting an explicit yes.
- You want one plan. Every feature is on one plan, with no tiers to compare. See the pricing page for current terms.

How the options journals compare
TradesViz's options page says it automatically recognizes and tracks multi-leg spreads, tags them so you can analyze by strategy type such as iron condors, verticals, and straddles, and generates greeks for each option leg. It also lists payoff charts, and an Options Command Center with net greeks across a portfolio. The pages we read did not show which paid plan includes multi-leg detection or greeks, so check that before you pay.
In OptionClaws you log a trade with stock and option legs, close any leg, roll a position, or settle an expiry, assignment, or exercise. A roll links the old and new trades into a chain with combined results. The portfolio view shows net delta, gamma, theta, vega, beta-weighted delta, an estimated margin figure, and exposure by symbol, sector, and expiration for open trades, and each trade has a payoff chart.
Importing trades
This is the clearest difference. TradesViz supports manual entry, file import, and auto-sync, and it says that if your broker is not listed you can request an importer. Pro and Platinum have unlimited imports, and Basic allows 3,000 executions per month.
OptionClaws reads broker CSV files from Schwab, tastytrade, IBKR, Fidelity, Robinhood, Webull, and Alpaca. You can also paste a trade as text, such as a sold put with its strike, expiration, and price, or upload a screenshot that AI reads. You review each row before anything is saved. If you trade many accounts or brokers and want everything to flow in without exports, TradesViz is the stronger choice.
Price and plans
On TradesViz's pricing page, Basic is free with one trading account, stock trades only, and 3,000 executions per month. Pro is $19.99/mo or $14.99/mo billed yearly with 10 trading accounts, and Platinum is $29.99/mo or $22.49/mo billed yearly with 20. Both paid plans list a 7-day free trial, and the REST API and hosted MCP access are included in Pro and Platinum.
OptionClaws has one plan with every feature, so there is no tier to choose. The pricing page has the current terms. Because prices change, compare both pricing pages the day you decide.
How to decide
Start with what you would miss. If automatic sync, futures or forex, a backtester, or a very large report set are part of your routine, TradesViz is the more complete tool and you should stay with it. If you scan for options trades, build and optimize them, and want a journal that lives next to those tools and reaches into ChatGPT or Claude, try OptionClaws. The fastest test is to log or import one month of real trades in both, then compare the stats and breakdowns you actually open.
Nothing here is financial advice. Journal statistics describe past trades and do not predict future results.
